IMPORTANT NOTICES

April 8, 2022

  • Provincial Health Authority has announced starting April 8th, 2022, there are no restrictions on exercise and fitness activities.

  • Masks are no longer mandatory in all indoor public spaces in alignment with updates to the public health orders issued by the provincial government on March 11, 2022. You are welcome to keep wearing masks, depending on your level of comfort. Please be respectful of each other.

  • Until the public health order on proof of vaccination expires on Friday, April 8th, at 12:01am, gyms and fitness centers still require proof of vaccination for entry.

  • There are no capacity restrictions on any exercise and fitness activities.

February 16, 2022

Provincial Health Authority has announced starting February 16, 2022 at 11:59pm, with proof of vaccination and masks, full capacity are allowed for gyms and fitness centres.

January 20, 2022
Provincial Health Authority has announced gyms and fitness centres are allowed to reopen January 20, 2022 with the following limits in place: 

Starting January 20, adult indoor individual, group fitness or exercise activities and adult dance classes and activities are allowed with increased safety protocols and capacity limits, including:

  • Capacity based on 7m2 of floor space per person for both individual and group fitness and exercise classes

  • In addition to floor space, all group fitness and exercise classes have a capacity limit of 25 people

  • Masks worn at all times, except when actively exercising. We strongly encourage people wear a mask even when exercising

  • Pre-bookings for drop-in individual fitness where operationally possible

  • Proof of vaccination QR codes are required for entry.


December 22, 2021

To help reduce the spread of new Covid-19 Omicron variant, Provincial Health Authority has mandated all gyms and fitness centres to close as of December 23, 2021 until January 18, 2022. We will re-open on January 19, 2022.

September 13, 2021

On September 13, to attend the gym you will need to have at least one shot of a COVID-19 vaccine. By October 24, you will need to be fully vaccinated.

August 16, 2021

Original Yin continues to align its practices with BC’s Restart Plan requirements, as mandated by the Provincial Health Authority. It is currently operating under a communicable disease prevention plan that focuses on basic risk reduction principles to reduce the risk of transmission of COVID-19 and other communicable diseases.

1. requiring all persons to wash their hands upon entry to the gym
2. maintaining a clean environment through routine cleaning processes
3. ensuring our multiple stand-alone air purifiers and building ventilation are properly maintained
4. everyone monitors for symptoms and stay home when feeling unwell
5. masks wearing according to the provincial guidelines: Province-wide mandatory mask mandate was lifted July 1. Masks are recommended in indoor public places everyone 12 and older who are not yet fully vaccinated. You are fully vaccinated 14 days after dose 2.
